How do people from Bihar return to their homes every year to celebrate Chhath and Diwali?
People of Bihar are returning to their homes from various states like Gujarat, Maharashtra, Dardar Nagar Haveli, Delhi, Assam etc. to celebrate Chhath and Diwali. There is a huge crowd at the station, then there is a huge crowd in the train. Eight to ten people are sitting in the toilet of the train and coming to their homes to celebrate Diwali and Chhath. The picture of the journey is of a huge crowd. People are coming home like sheep and goats. People of Bihar, who are forced to come home by train loaded like sacks, have no other option.
This is not a new thing. These people return home in this way every year and when Diwali and Chhath Puja are over, then they go back to other states in this way to earn money. This has become the life of the people of Bihar in a way. This life has been stamped by the people of Bihar. People are helpless, powerless, they can't do anything.
To change their lives, these people have even approached the government, but it has had no effect on their lives. Government chairs have changed, people sitting on the chairs have changed, but the lives of these people have remained the same as before. Even the statistics show that the situation was better during the previous government. Now it has become worse than before.
People of Bihar living in other states doing small jobs or labour want to come home. And want to celebrate this Diwali and Chhath with their families. They want to come, but railway tickets are available in black. People are trying to buy tickets and come home by paying many times more price, but it is not possible.
The condition becomes bad on seeing the crowd of people at the stations from where Bihar trains come from states like Gujarat, Maharashtra, Assam, Dadra Nagar Haveli, Delhi etc. The scene of a station in Gujarat is enough to tell that there is a huge crowd but there is a huge shortage of trains. People are standing at the station wanting to come to Bihar somehow, but it is not possible for people to complete the journey of many days and come home even by sitting comfortably on the seat.
The passengers clearly say that the number of people going to
Bihar is very high. Train arrangements have not been made accordingly. The same
trains which were running earlier are being run. The whole of India knows that
during Diwali and Chhath, people of Bihar go to their homes from Gujarat. In
such a situation, the number of trains should have been increased.
