6 vultures were released into the wild, to boost their numbers.

6 vultures have been released in the natural environment at the Kerwa Vulture Breeding Center located in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh.

The Chief Minister has said that this is the first time that 6 vultures have been released in the natural environment with the aim of increasing the population. All the 6 vultures being released from the Kerwa Vulture Breeding Center have GPS tracking tags. This will enable continuous monitoring of the movement, behavior and safety of these vultures.

Let us tell you that there was a time when the plains of India were full of vultures. The first choice of vultures used to be villages in rural areas.

When an animal died in the village, and the dead animal was left in the open field, then after some time the vultures would gather in a group to eat that animal.

These are 30-35 years old things. Which is not there now. Now vultures are seen only at some places. The disappearance of vultures from villages of states like Bihar, Uttar Pradesh etc. is a common thing.
