नेहरूजी के दूसरा संतान बेटा पैदा लेते हीं, पत्नि कमला नेहरू की तबियत बहुत ख़राब हो गई और........ कमला नेहरूजी दिल्ली के व्यापारी पंडित जवाहरमल कौल की पुत्री थीं। 8 फरवरी , 1916 को बसंत पंचमी के दिन दिल्ली में उनका विवाह जवाहरलाल नेहरूजीजी से हुआ था। 19 नवंबर 1917 को इंदिराजी का जन्म हुआ था। कमलाजी की तबियत बार-बार बिगड़ रही थी। नवम्बर , 1924 में उनकी दूसरी संतान ने जन्म लिया। लेकिन कुछ ही दिनों के भीतर लड़के की मृत्यु हो गई। उनकी तबियत और बिगड़ गई। जाँच कराने पर टीबी निकली। नेहरूजी ने डॉ एम ए अंसारी से सलाह ली तो उन्होंने जेनेवा ले जाने की सलाह दी। पासपोर्ट बनवाने गए तो एकबार फिर अंडरटेकिंग मांगी गई कि यूरोप में रहते हुए वह राजनीतिक आयोजनों में हिस्सा नहीं लेंगे। उन्होंने फिर मना कर दिया। अंत में जब मोतीलालजी ने हस्तक्षेप किया तब जाकर उन्हें पासपोर्ट मिला। मार्च में नेहरूजी पत्नी को लेकर जिनेवा पहुँचे। अगले 21 महीने वह वहीँ रहे। बाद में बहन कृष्णा नेहरूजी भी पहुँच गईं। जिनेवा से उन्हें मोंटाना के एक सेनीटोरियम में ले जाया गया। लेकिन स्वास्थ्य-लाभ बेहद धीमा था। 5 मार्च , 19...

गांधीजी का भारत में पहला अनशन।। अहमदाबाद   मिल-मज़दूरों के औद्योगिक झगड़ों को सुलझाने गांधीजीजी ने जो मांग तैयार की उसको मिल-मालिकों के सामने रखा। उन्होंने 20 फीसदी से अधिक देने से क़तई इन्कार कर दिया और कह दिया कि 22 फरवरी 1918 से मिलों में   ताले   डाल दिये जाएंगे। गांधीजीजी ने मिल-मज़दूरों की एक सभा बुलाई और एक पेड़ के नीचे उनसे यह प्रतिज्ञा करवाई कि वे तब तक काम पर नहीं लौटेंगे जब तक उनकी मांग स्वीकार नहीं हो जाती। प्रतिज्ञा में यह बात भी थी कि वे लोग जब तक मिलों में ताले पड़े रहेंगे तब तक किसी हालत में शांति-भंग न करेंगे। अहिंसा गांधीवादी संघर्ष का हमेशा से अविभाज्य अवयव रहा है। हड़ताली मज़दूरों की स्थिति लगातार बिगड़ती जा रही थी। एक शाम जब गांधीजी मज़दूरों के बीच सभा कर रहे थे , एक व्यक्ति ने ताना दिया कि गांधीजी और अनुसूयाबेन तो कार से चलते हैं और उन्हें भोजन की कोई समस्या नहीं है , लेकिन हमारे बच्चे भूखों मर रहे हैं। बात कड़वी थी, लेकिन सच थी। गांधीजीजी ने उसी समय यह घोषणा की कि जब तक मज़दूरों की मांगे नहीं मानी जातीं , तब तक न तो किसी सवारी में ही चलेंग...
